Smart Medicine for a Healthier Child by Zand, Walton and Rountree

smart medicine for a healthier childHighlights: Smart Medicine for a Healthier Child by Janet Zand, Rachel Walton and Bob Rountree is a great reference for illnesses, injuries and skin conditions.

The chapters list symptoms of a particular illness, then include conventional, nutritional and alternative treatments.

The book also offers nuts and bolts information about prescription drugs, herbal remedies, Bach flowers, acupressure, homeopathy, diet and nutrition.

Lowlights: We might feel more comfortable trying the homeopath treatments under the advice of a homeopath doctor.

Why we like it: A must have. Great advice on how to treat cradle cap, eczema, colds and minor injuries.

Anytime our kids are exposed to chicken pox or show concerning symptoms of something, we open up this book. We also use it to have more informed conversations with our pediatricians.

Child’s Age: Pregnancy through 18 years old.
