Environmental Advocacy Made Simple
Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. recently inspired us to get more involved in policy making, but with young children it can be tough to find extra hours to dedicate to a cause.
Here are a few sites to get informed and involved in environmental policy on your own timetable:
National Resources Defense Council
Kennedy is a senior attorney at NRDC–great campaigns to protect land, air, water and endangered animals like the polar bear. The NRDC Action Center makes sending messages to government representatives take only a few simple steps.
World Wildlife Fund
WWF is dedicated to protecting endangered species and conservation. Their Conservation Action Network includes easy letter writing forms to send to lawmakers.
Environment California
Environment California works on policy in California and the west, important nationally because California is an environmental benchmark state. They changed VOC (volatile organic compounds) levels in paint, water regulations and more. Check out their section on Toxic Toys.
Healthy Child Healthy World
A great health and environmental resource for families–information and advocacy. Check out their Get Involved page.
Stop Global Warming
Join the Stop Global Warming Virtual March, read up to date information about climate change, and find easy steps to reduce your carbon footprint.
