Simple Tips

Drinking Glasses for Kids

Kids, even babies, love to drink from regular cups, and there are some great small drinking glasses made just for them!

The durable Juice Glasses at For Small Hands come in two sizes, the smallest just right for older babies and toddlers, the bigger for older toddlers and preschoolers.

We start our 7 month olds with the smallest glass, offering them sips of water. If it’s mealtime, we then set the glass out of reach until we’re ready to offer them more water.

Babies soon show an ability and desire to hold the glass on their own. We follow their lead, sitting with them while they drink and holding the glass or moving it to the side while they finish their food (otherwise they may dump water on their food).

Older toddlers often are ready to have their own glass at their place, helping themselves to water as they eat.

Kids feel empowered drinking from real glasses, and at the same time they’re practicing their table skills.
