LocalHarvest

LocalHarvest is a non-profit that lists Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) subscriptions and farmer’s markets around the country. The LocalHarvest store sells products from family farms through mail order.

CSAs offer produce (and sometimes eggs or meat) directly from a nearby farm, or group of farms.

Lyndsey just joined a CSA at a local farm that delivers produce to her town once a week. The produce varies according to what’s harvested that week.

The fruit and vegetables are deliciously fresh, and cheaper than ordering from Diamond Organics or even her local stores. Lyndsey pays up front for two months of fruit, vegetables and flowers. A CSA season usually lasts from spring through fall.

Buying local through a CSA or farmer’s market is a great way to get fresh, organic food, support local farms, and connect your family to food in a new way.

Check out LocalHarvest to find a CSA or farmer’s market near you!
