Soothing Bath Potions for Kids

The hardest part of a rough day is feeling like there’s no restart button or magic wand to clear the energy.

We’ve got a solution for upset kids–the bathtub.

Our soothing bath potions for kids:

Epsom Salts. We use Epsom Salts in the bath when our kids are getting sick or they’ve had a day of falls and bumps or when we sense they’re strung out emotionally.

The Epsom Salts soothe and balance, our kids come out of the bath in calmer spirits.

We pour half to one cup Epsom Salts under running bath water, and wave our hand through the bath a few times to make sure the salts dissolve.

We use Epsom Salts as early as a month old. (We make sure the kids don’t drink too much bath water as the salts can cause loose bowels.)

Rescue Remedy. Our next magic trick. Rescue Remedy is recommended for skin conditions, irritation, crying and trauma.

If the kids are struggling, they’re crying a lot and we can’t find the source, we’ll put them in a Rescue Remedy bath in the middle of the day.

A Rescue Remedy bath is very effective for children under a year. Some parents use it for colic as well.

Four drops of Rescue Remedy in the bath water and life starts to get a little easier, for all of us.
