Environmental Toxins and Obesity
The Green Guide’s article on environmental toxins and obesity is fascinating.
Researchers discovered that overweight people have high levels of phthalates. They believe there’s a possible connection between these chemicals and obesity. Another study finds a correlation with bisphenol-A (BPA).
Many of these chemicals are found in children’s products: phthalates in bath and body products and toys; BPA in baby bottles, sippy cups and food containers.
The best part of this Green Guide article are the simple steps they suggest to avoid phthalates, BPA and another toxin, perfluorochemicals (PFCs).
We’re often overwhelmed by discussions of the seemingly infinite possibilities of chemical exposures, it’s a relief to get easy to follow advice.
