Natural Baby Teethers
At four or five months old on up, our babies love teethers. We keep a bunch of different grasping toys in a bowl. For play time (floor time), we set a few around them on the rug so they can explore.
We do notice that our kids like some more than others, and their preferences change. We try to rotate the combination of toys a bit so they get a fresh outlook.
Here are some of our favorite natural teethers:
1. Selecta makes a range of terrific wood grasping toys. A few of the Selecta in our toy bowl: Girali, a different Girali, and the Rombino.
2. Haba is another European toy brand with a range of good teethers. Haba uses different styles than Selecta so we like having a few of both. We like the Triangle, Pipabo (good first toy for young babies to grasp), and Grrow-l.
3. Natural wood rattles are the best basics and we love their look–like this Cherry Rattle. The Mossy Creek rattle is always a favorite.
4. Under the Nile’s Organic Teething Bear, Cat, Mouse, Frog and Duck are great for teething (we choose just one). Baby Buddies are also popular with little ones. These soft, washable dolls soon become comfort toys that our kids love to carry and care for as they get older.
5. The Kathe Kruse Rainbow Baby is wonderful, and often a young baby’s favorite first teething toy. We love the Lavender Baby too.
