Carbon Offsets for Cars (and plane, and house)

We noticed TerraPass stickers on car windows lately and decided to assuage our big car guilt with some offsetting ourselves.

TerraPass seemed ideal, given we recognize the brand and the sticker on the car makes a nice go green statement.

We still research carbon offset companies just in case there’s something else we should know about. Turns out Ideal Bite has a good tip on carbon offsets–and a link to an informative (though dense, we focus on the easy to read tables) Consumers Guide to Carbon Offset Providers.

The real answer is to choose a more fuel efficient car. In the meantime the process of calculating emissions and buying offset credits keeps us thinking about our carbon footprint. And making changes to live lighter.
