The Aware Baby by Aletha J. Solter

The Aware Baby by Aletha J. SolterHighlights: In The Aware Baby Aletha Solter offers great insight about natural child development, specifically respecting and being present with young children. Solter is an attachment parenting expert and therapist who describes how to relate to infants’ crying, allowing them to have their feelings and express themselves.

Lowlights: A lot about attachment parenting, in parts we might feel Solter’s critical of the choices we make that are different than her beliefs.

Why we like it: Solter gives a context for babies’ crying that helps us stay calm and present, an honest approach we haven’t found in other books.

Child’s age: Newborn through toddler.
