Easy Holiday Cookies

Organic SprinkelzWe love making holiday cookies. With young children our baking rule is keep it simple–we focus on decorating.

We find lots of organic ingredients like natural food coloring at our local market, and some are available online.

We often make just a few cookies at a time, so we can bake more another afternoon and also avoid the potential sugar overload.

Our natural (and easy) holiday cookie formula:

Immaculate Baking Company Organic Vanilla Sugar Cookie Dough is even precut. We put the cookie sheets in the oven and bake. The dough can also be rolled flat for cookie cutters.

Dr. Oetker Organic Vanilla Icing Mix is quick to make. Instead of milk and butter, we add rice milk and goat butter. The icing tastes great.

Seelecta Organic Food Coloring has no artificial ingredients. We divide the frosting into three or four bowls and create a few colors. The red has a pinkish hue, our kids don’t mind.

For toppings, we use raisins or find a natural sprinkles option. Edward & Sons Organic Sprinkelz are fun and come in chocolate or rainbow colors.
