The Vaccine Book

the vaccine bookHighlights: The Vaccine Book: Making the Right Decision for Your Child by Dr. Robert W. Sears is clear, concise and informative. Sears explains the 12 vaccines given to infants and children, the standard vaccination schedule, the risk of exposure to diseases vaccines protect against, the content of each vaccine (chemicals, antibiotics and all the rest of it), and the potential side-effects.

He includes ways to boost children’s immune systems before and after vaccinations, how to protect unvaccinated infants from exposure to illnesses, his alternative vaccination schedule, and information about states’ vaccination requirements.

Lowlights: None.

Why we like it: The book we’ve been waiting for about vaccines.

The Vaccine Book lays out the facts, the pros and cons for parents to make an educated decision. After reading the book, we feel calmer about making vaccination decisions for our kids.

Sears also created TheVaccineBook.com for up to date vaccination information, which includes starting a list of vaccine-friendly pediatricians (doctors open to families who want to delay or decline vaccinations).

Child’s age: Birth through adolescence.

Do I have to order the book to see what the alternative vaccine schedule looks like?

Yes, we checked The Vaccine Book site and unfortunately it’s not listed. The book has two alternative schedules, definitely helpful.
