Super Baby Food by Ruth Yaron

super baby food by ruth yaronHighlights: Super Baby Food is the most complete food book for babies and young children–how to start solids, puree food, create meal variety and support healthy eating habits. The chapters cover everything we want to know, and offer creative food ideas.

Lowlights: The book’s quite thick. The amount of information may feel overwhelming at times, making it hard to decide what we can actually (as in physically) handle in our baby chef role. Also, Yaron’s vegetarian focus suggests feeding young children nuts, while many pediatricians advise waiting on nuts until a child is three. We discuss with our pediatrician to find the best approach for our kids.

Why we like it: Best overview of how to feed babies. The three to four pages explaining how to prepare healthy food mixes are terrific. We love having a book to read and reread as we navigate feeding and nutrition.

Child’s age: Babies starting solids through 3 years old.
